We met for a coffee with Adina Filculescu, enthusiast entrepreneur, floral design lover and owner of en Rose.

en Rose is a company whose main domain of activity is floral and event design. Adina’s company  master floral arrangements and bouquets from fresh flowers to enhance every event: private events (weddings, christenings, thematic parties) and corporate events (product launching, conference, business networking events). en Rose offer only floral designs – made of good quality fresh flowers imported from Holland – that can be described as immaculately conceived, perfectly scripted, organised down to the finest detail, inspired, heartfelt and always breathtakingly beautiful.

ALISIA ENCO: Adina, what is your story?

Like any woman, I’ve always liked flowers and had an attraction to beauty, but flowers became a passion for me when I met a lovely lady who inspired my love for them. I noticed from the early years of college an inclination towards entrepreneurship, and the fact that I did an internship at a company that, at that time, handled dried flower decorations helped me in deciding to start my own business in this field.

As I discovered what a great variety of flowers and colors there is, I became fascinated by this wonderful world. Even today I am surprised to find out atypical shades of lathyrus, hydrangea or scabiosa which I can use to make new stylistic combinations. If what you do is not passionate, you cannot have remarkable results in the long run. 

AE: What is your favorite flower?

It’s very difficult to chose one, but I can tell you that my favorite flower is the delicate lathyrus. It’s quite unknown, you might say it’s a shy flower amongst the more  common ones, but once you get to see its beautiful colors and smell the wonderful perfume it has, you absolutely fall in love with it. I like to use it in the wedding bouquets I make, besides its beauty that it adds to the composition, it attracts everyone around to smell it.

AE: What motivates you to go to work every day?

The first thing, of course, is the fact that I absolutely love what I do. Another thing is the variety in my work. Everyday is distinct and requires different activities and approaches and I enjoy that a lot. Besides these, getting positive feedback from the people I work with is an important motivational factor. The enthusiasm of my clients when they see the final result is extremely satisfying and also heartwarming. Happiness is the motor.

AE: Did your style change from the moment you started your business?

It has changed a little along the years, because I have always appreciated elegance and simplicity. Some days I have to be very active, so I have to put down the heels and wear something more comfortable. I’d say that lately I’ve adopted a more smart-casual style.

AE: There are some “basic” pieces in a woman’s wardrobe but, the essentials are not always the same for all women. What do you believe are the highlights of your wardrobe?

I absolutely adore my dresses and shirts with floral print! I love the ALISIA ENCO shirts with floral details! They can be so versatile, in the first place, because you can wear them in a meeting with a client, then at an art exposition, or when meeting with your friends at a bohemian rooftop party for drinks and aperitivo. I love to combine them with feminine skirts. Needless to say, they represent me – and what I do – the best.

AE: What are the most important details when choosing to buy a piece of clothing? 

I always pay attention to the material and the lining of clothing. I prefer the natural ones and they should always be of good quality. I also care a lot for the cut. I think a piece, as simple as it may be, can be outstanding as long as it has the suitable cut and fitting for you.

AE: What we wear to work matters. What’s your opinion about this?

I think that what you wear, not only to work, but in everyday life, should always make you feel good. Only this way you can transmit good vibrations to people around you. Barriers between people go down when you are open and feeling good. What you wear says something about you and your personality without having to introduce yourself, but how you wear your clothes is even more important.

AE: You choose to wear our shirts. What made you chose them?

The prints – I absolutely love them! All your shirts are special, because I feel that they represent very well femininity, delicacy, but also they have something dignifying, something that inspires power and sharpness.

AE: How do you see yourself in 20 years? 

Fashionably late sometimes, but always well-spirited and with a smile upon my face. And wherever I am, there should always be flowers.
