Like most things in life, this place came to us when we most needed it. At the end of an agitated month, when the pile of things to do was nowhere near finished, a close friend of ours recommended us a lovely, tranquil place that was only one hour away by car. We went there with high expectations, but what we’ve found was truly a magical place for a tired mind in need of inspiration.
Lady Ralu’s Mansion (Conacul Domnitei Ralu) is one of the great surprises of our summer, so we’ve decided to start our new category, Inspiration, by telling its story and offering you a place where you can enjoy a wonderful glass of wine and a breathtaking panorama.
The mansion remembers us of a little corner of the sun kissed Tuscany. It has a history of over 90 years, but was only recently rediscovered and turned into a family business, after years of being abandoned and unkempt.
Of course we couldn’t just leave without finding out more, so we’ve talked with the family that runs the place, a wonderful, antiques-loving couple that invested over 6 years into brining the mansion back to its former beautiful glory, and we’ve found out that the place originally belonged to the Demetrescu family and afterwards to the Romalo family.
Now named Lady Ralu’s Mansion, the place hosts numerous private events and even small festivals. Its charm is captivating more and more people who just want to relax and enjoy themselves closer to nature.
